Wedding Plan Updates

Well hello out there!
Remember me?
I have been a lil bloggy MIA due to wedding planning madness.
Are y'all sick of hearing about my big day yet?
I sure hope not because it is consuming every thought in my head.
At times it may or may not be sucking oxygen out of my brain.
And this girl has been getting Sh*t done.

So Kev and I are planning our dream country wedding.
We are doing a very small ceremony and reception that will focus on love, family and the man upstairs.
Kev has been so plugged in to all my decisions every step of the way. I don't know what I would ever do without him.
He's my best friend.
We are checking off things on our to-do list everyday.
Kicking butt and taking names people!

For starters....we set a date.
Originally 11.11.12, as I had tweeted last week.
However, we had a minor complication and have moved the date to 11.18.12. It is written in stone and is marked on the calendar.
The day after we had first booked 11.11, the vendor called to inform me that there was another event at the winery where we are getting married.
No big deal.
The winery is huge and has several locations on its campus and is capable of hosting multiple events at the same time.
However the other event on 11.11 just so happened to involve about 200 motorcycle riders.
I mean I love my harley riding hunk of a fiance', but the vrooom vrrrrooom of 200 plus motorcycles as background noise on my wedding day.....ummm I think not.
Luckily we moved to one week later and the vendor threw in some added extras to our package which worked out perfectly.
So I will officially be a Mrs. 11.18.12
Craaazy Crazzzy Crazzzzy.

Next on the list....the venue.
We are getting married in a barn at a winery in Lexington.
This winery is tucked way back in the bluegrass off of a two lane windey road.
It's gorgeous.

We are doing the ceremony and the reception in this here barn.
Kev and I are ecstatic.
The barn has that country, rustic, homey feel we are going for.

I also booked our photographer.
I am using Amy of Angela Anderson Photography.
I have admired her work from afar for years and years.
I literally cried looking at her photos the day I decided to officially book her. I can't imagine anyone else snapping my photos on the big day.
Here are some of my favorites via the Angela Anderson Photography facebook page.

I met with a caterer yesterday.
I have a friend who works in the industry and knows all things wedding.
She was sooooo helpful and full of all kinds of wedding ideas.
We set a true country girl menu yesterday including
bbq pulled pork, mac and cheese, coleslaw, baked beans, and gardne salads with buttermilk ranch dressing.
We are also potentially passing mini kentucky hot browns as h'orderves during our lil cocktail hour.
We are doing a buffet style, laid back, finger licking good kinda meal with sweet tea in mason jars, of course!

And my favorite part of our day, so far, is that we finally have a pastor to marry us.
This gal.... one of my best, best friends from college will be doing the honors.

Anne and her hubby are ordained ministers that co-pastor a church in the Western part of the state.
Anne has been living in Texas since we graduated college and just moved back to KY last year.
It was actually Kev's idea to have her marry us.
I can think of nobody else I would rather have leading our ceremony.
I get tears every time I think about it.
It look me several attempts to call her due to tears and emotions that would come over me.
I would dial her number, tear up and have to put down my phone.
When I asked Anne if she would consider marrying us, she said, "Yes...I am honored" and then I cried more.
It's going to be such a sweet, sentimental day.
I could cry again just thinking about it.
Did i mention i have been super duper emotional lately??

My mom and I plan on dress shopping some tomorrow and Saturday morning before we get on a plane for Las Vegas. That's the one "biggie" left on my list.

More pictures to come tomorrow of my country wedding vision.
Y'all come back...ya hear :-)
