Home Tour: The Kitchenette

We love our kitchenette and we have definitely already put it to good use. This room is right off the kitchen and I absolutely love this space.

We didn't have to do a lot to this room. My favorite part of this room are the plantation shutters. It was one of the first things I fell in love with about this house. We left the paint color the same and Kev added the television. We also re-stained and re-surfaced the hardwood floors and added new quarter-round.

Not gonna lie -this is my second favorite room in the house. I got the idea from a Ballard's catalog to do a couch around a kitchenette table. I love the look...it's cozy and comfortable. We eat the majority of meals in this room and I love that it feels so homey.
Added bonus that our TV swivels and I can view it from any angle in the kitchen while I am preparing meals.

Jute Rug: Pottery Barn
Couch: Arhaus (we actually bought it used from our sellers)
Pillows: Target and House
Lamp and Chevron Shade: Target
Table and Chairs: Overstock
Monogram W: House
Horse Print: Local Art Gallery in Lexington

Florida/Georgia Line Concert

Last month one of our favorite country music bands came to Lexington - Florida Georgia Line. Before the move, Kev and I had reserved a suite at the Whitaker Bank Ball Park for our friends to get together and join in on all the fun.

I made dinner reservations downtown at The Jax to get the party started. Although the service was a little below par, we still enjoyed each other's company. It was so good to see some of our nearest and dearest who we miss so much.

Was such a fun night. We got a little rowdy, but hey "that's how we do it around here" :-)

1 Year Anniversary

Kevin and I celebrated our first anniversary over the weekend.
Our actually anniversary fell on Monday and we decided to celebrate a couple days early
Thanks to my Cincy gals Katie, Erin and Brittany for hooking us up with some great restaurant recommendations.
We eventually decided on The Celestial in Mount Adams and it was perfection. The amazing views of the city skyline were so pretty and so romantic.

I had shrimp and grits. We both got a laugh out of the server saying "well i sure didn't take you for a shrimp and grits kind of girl"
He clearly didn't understand that I am country gal living in the big bad city.
Kev had the most amazing balsamic chicken and risotto and ours sever brought us complimentary creme brulee. Yum!

My favorite part of dinner was when Kev pulled out a piece of paper that he hand written all of our 1sts in the past year, the highs, the lows and the most memorable moments. It melted my heart.

We then celebrated Monday with a happy hour after work and wedding cake.
We bought a fresh new cake top from the amazing Martine's in Lexington who made our wedding cake.
Her pistachio flavor is super popular and our fave. It was delish!

One year down and forever to go. I am so lucky to be married to this man. I love you Kev!

Home Tour - the living room

Welcome to our living room!
When decorating it I knew I wanted it to be neutral, homey and comfortable. I feel like we accomplished that. I love all the accents and natural light in this room

We originally wanted to hang our tv over the mantle, but it wasn't in the cards. It was going to call for some heavy work to make that happen. I love that it's not over the mantle now though. I love when you walk in through the entry that your eye goes to the mantle and a TV isn't there. I can just and fill it with seasonal decor. It also allowed for us to keep the room open and spacious. Added bonus - we have a small wet bar off of the living room. perfect for entertaining!

Take a look around and let me know what you think. I adore this room!

I still have up my neutral fall decor. This gal believes in no Christmas before thanksgiving :-)
