Wedding Photos: The Reception

Almost a year later -  I am still over here sharing my wedding photos. Where does the time go people?
I finally updated "Our Wedding" at the top under my header....just in case you have missed anything. Once a bride....always a bride. I will forever be wedding obsessed :-)

Now, what you need to know about our reception
Picture a laid back atmosphere
in a rustic barn
with bluegrass music
cowboy boots
crisp fall air and
a gorgeous sunset!
It was country girl heaven!

-guests stepped out on the back patio for cocktails immediately following the ceremony
- we served up a good country bbq meal with all the fixins - bbq pork, baked beans, cole slaw, mac & cheese and house salads with ranch dressing. delish!
- Kev's best man sang our mother/son & daughter/father and first dance songs acoustic style with his guitar
- my mother's dessert bar was such a hit - she handmade every dessert on the spread with exception of the wedding cake
-guests sipped sweat tea out of mason jars along with local wine and beer
-instead of a groom's cake we had 3 groom's pies - Derby Pie, Apple Crisp Pie and Pecan Pie
-the band played bluegrass music through cocktail hour and during dinner before we switched over to DJ style music to dance the night away
-guests took home mini apple butter jelly jars wrapped in burlap and jute that my momma made and kev made the labels. they were adorable
-kev and i were on a vegetarian kick at the time that we had started in august right before the wedding. our sweet vendor made us bbq tofu so we could enjoy our meal with all the other non vegetarian guests.
- my momma was the best dancer on the dance floor. she always has been. girlfran has some rhythm
- my brother's toast had a star-trek reference which was perfect

We had such an amazing night! It still goes down as the best day/night of my life to date. I could relive that day over every day....and not change a thing!

i LOVE that you served country food at your wedding. We did the same with fried chicken, green beans and hasbrown casserole! Our guests were in heaven!

Love the pictures as always :-)

We had similar foods... pot roast, green beans, rolls, macaroni and cheese and stuff like that. It was catered by Ramsey's. I think that type of food is so much better than the "fancy" stuff. Plus, everyone complimented the food and said it was the best they've had even though we didn't make it lol
