Weekend Re-cap
I drove to Whitesburg on friday after to work to visit my family. It is a 2 1/2 hour drive from Lexington. The drive is so nostalgic for me. There is just something about having the windows rolled down and country music turned up as you drive through the beautiful mountains tucked away in Eastern Ky.
Friday night we grubbed on my daddy's smoked ham, mamas homemade rolls, baked beans, potato salad, deviled eggs, and the most amazing chess bars. We were in a food coma afterwards and spent the remainder of the night just visiting in our sweats on the couch.
We spent the majority of Saturday laying by the pool followed by a down home country cookout with family and our neighbors. There was sooooo much good food that accompanied corn hole, volleyball, and horseshoe slinging. We took it easy Saturday evening and caught up on all the Casey Anthony trial...I have been obsessed with the coverage.
Sunday we all got up and went to church and came home to another meal compliments of Mom and Dad. Needless to say we did a LOT of eating and taking it easy, but I wouldn't change a thing. The doggies love going to their "country home" and it is always entertaining to have 4 large dogs in the mix. (My parents also have two boxers, Dempsey and Faith). Faith and Uggie are known to get a lil rowdy at times, typical of two females.
Enjoyed the 3 day weekend at home so much...nothing beats family. period!
Happy 4th of July!
