Bump Update Week 27-29

HELLLLLLLOOOOO THIRD TRIMESTER!!!! saywhat?!?! I can honestly say the past few weeks have been my favorite of pregnancy. I feel amazing and so comfortable with my bump....and the movement is so surreal....I love everything about it. I love just sitting still and feeling her kick and move all over the place.

Due Date: Sept 1st

Baby Gender: IT'S A GIRL! Olivia June

Baby Size: at 28 weeks -an eggplant....almost 15 inches long and weighs 2.5 pounds
at 29 weeks - the size of an acorn squash....15 inches long and weighs in at 3 pounds

Movement: constant kicks, rolling around and a few quick jabs to let me she is doing just fine.

Feeling: still feeling great overall! my pubic bone and pelvic pain have lessened over these past two weeks. i am starting to get more tired in the evening and also not sleeping as well which is all to be expected in the third trimester

Food Cravings: Fresh Fruit! I am talking watermelon, blackberries, peaches, blueberries and strawberries. I start my mornings off with a plate piled high.  Also still loving lots of fresh, raw veggies. So thankful to be preggo during the summertime when all this yumminess is in season. Also can't get enough of turkey brauts on the grill with yellow mustard. Really yellow mustard on anything sounds amazing.

Food Aversions: nothing really over the past two-three weeks.

Clothes: maternity jeans, maxi dresses, pre-maternity leggins and pre-maternity long tees and tanks. For work this week I ordered maternity scrubs. My regular scrubs fit fine while i am standing, but when I sit down I can't stand them tight on the bump. Lululemon has been my staple and go-to and I will be able to rock it after too. At home I live for loose tank tops and super thin pajama leggins or shorts.  I can't stand being hot now that it is getting warmer.

Stretch Marks: i noticed a new pink mark at the bottom of my boobie last week, but i am not for sure if its one or not. I continue to lather up with bio oil and super thick lotion during the morning and night.

Sleep: well this week sleep has not been going as well as it has in the past. I have a harder time getting comfortable and turn a lot from side to side. I think a lot of it has to do with pre-baby anxiety and all the things we need to be doing.  Also, waking up 2-3 times per night for potty breaks is also the pits. I have had a couple night's of pregnancy insomnia too.

Symptoms: thank goodness the heartburn has eased up a bit.  Some continued SPD
(symphysis pubic dysfunction), but nothing like last week Constant urination, evening fatigue. Bending over is getting harder as my bump is really out front. I also find myself having more difficulty breathing when i bend over...shaving my legs this week was a joke...ha! .

What I Miss: Sleeping through the night, Working out, Beer, being able to bend over comfortably.

Things that aren't my favorite: more fatigued in the evenings. the constant urination. who knew one could urinate so much in one day or one night??! pregnancy insomnia shows it's ugly head at least once per week

Best and Most Memorable Moments this week  Week 27 - baby bedding arriving!!!! i am still swooning over it-ordering plantation shutters for Livi's room-kev's parents coming to visit. his momma brought baby girl a butt load of goodies. so so sweet -having an emotional church experience during "the launch event".....just being blown away about God's plan for Kev and I-hospital orientation and birth class. Kev made it through...just barely haha! the man HATES hospitals. he turned a bit purple a time or two, but was a trooper. he said afterwards he had never heard the words vagina, maxi pad, cervix and blood so much in his life.

Week 28 -getting to the third trimester and realizing we will have a sweet baby girl here by the end of summer - MD appt and realizing we now start going every TWO WEEKS! Crazy!-doing kick counts and realizing how active our sweet baby girl is...I feel like I get ten counts in ten seconds lol!!!-celebrating my last birthday before becoming a momma with kev -shower invitations are rolling in and they warm my heart so much

Week 29 -working in the nursery and finishing the gallery wall-the delivery of the big white furry rug for the nursery that bailey and I are obsessed with....we like to take naps on it. he really thinks the nursery is his new room haha. -had our 3d/4d scan and our little girl wanted no part of it....she hid from us almost the entire time....needless to say we are rescheduling.

I can't believe we get to meet this precious baby girl at the end of summer. The love we have for her is already overwhelming...I can't even begin to imagine what that love will feel like when we hold her in our arms for the first time.

Mother's Day 2015

Mother's day weekend was so perfect! Even though I am technically not a momma yet, Kev made sure I felt as special as ever as a momma-to-be.

On Friday night we picked up BBQ take-out and enjoyed it out on the back patio. The weather was so perfect. Casual nights in are our favorite! We turned on some country music in the background and talked about all things Baby Girl. The love we have for this child already is insane. Kev was meant to be a daddy and our sweet Livy is beyond blessed that God choose him to be her father.

After dinner we opened up our NURSERY FURNITURE!!!! My bother and Kev had picked it up earlier that day. I am semi-obsessed with it. The detail wood work is beautiful and it's everything I wanted. I can't wait to finish this space....if I could just decided on bedding y'all.

Saturday morning we got up and had a small breakfast and headed to Nordstrom around lunch. Kev took my shopping at Kenwood for almost 5 hours letting me pick out anything I wanted. He even watched me try on things and gave input. He would grab me smaller or larger sizes and even picked out things on his own that he liked. So so so stinkin sweet. He was so plugged in that day with something that is not his favorite. He may or may not hate shopping. We had lunch at Nordstrom cafe and then hit up a few more stores before calling it a day. I should mention the man left me in lululemon alone at the end of the day.....major gasp haha! We then headed to Mason for a successful trip to find a glider.

We called it a day by meeting my brother and Brittany for dinner at Dewey's Pizza.

Sunday morning we woke up early to go to a volunteer meeting at church to sign up for regular serving opportunities at church on Sunday's. This is something I feel like we have been talking about forever, but had yet to put action behind it. Felt so good to finally do it and establish a new and important rhythm for our family before the baby gets here. We attened service after our meeting.... and boy was it a good one. John Gray, associate pastor to Joel Osteen, spoke that morning and lit the whole congregation up with the word of Jesus. It was electrifying, funny and moving all at the same time.

We finished our evening at OTR at Bakersfield over tacos and beer (non-alcoholic for me of course) and hit up the Brave Experience (an  interactive prayer experience put on by our church) on our way home.

Our weekend centered around God, each other, family and our little Girl. The most important things to us. Such a special "semi" first Mother's Day.

Bump Update Week 24-26

Due Date: Sept 1st

Baby Size Gender: IT'S A GIRL!!!!!!!!!

Movement: yesssssss. no more flutters....these are straight up kicks, punches and karate chops. She's super active anytime I take a moment to sit down. I think she loves me buzzing around all day. Kev feels her on the regular and it blows his mind how much stronger the kicks are. The movement is my favorite part of being pregnant. It always reminds me of how safe and sound she is. This may sound super selfish, but I also love that it's just her and I that have this bond right now. Don't get me wrong, I can't wait for her to experience her daddy's love too, but I love how special it is between just her and I  right now.

Feeling: still feeling great...bedtime is slowly getting a wee bit earlier. especially on the days i do a lot.

Food Cravings: Fresh Fruit! It's insane the amount of fruit I consume on a weekly basis. Kev is always being sent to the grocery on his way home to pick up watermelon or blackberries. I have also been craving a lot of fresh, raw veggies. So thankful to be preggo during the summertime when all this yumminess is in season. Also sour candy and yellow mustard on everything!!!

Food Aversions: nothing really over the past two-three weeks.

Clothes: maternity jeans, pre-maternity leggins and pre-maternity long tees and tanks. at work i can still fit into regular scrubs but did buy some stretchy maternity shirts mostly for length because i am constantly moving around, squatting down and bending over. I bought a size up in my lululemon yoga pants and they fit perfectly. Also loving maxi dresses.

Stretch Marks: nope!!! lathering up with bert's bee mama bee lotion and bio oil. however, the lack of working out has led to some nasty cellulite on the back of my legs. i can't even talk about bathing suit season.

Sleep: going to sleep is no issues. i am out like a light as soon as my head hits the pillow. I have been waking up 1-2x to go use the bathroom...depends on how much water I chug before bedtime. My hips have been starting to get sore and I have to alternate from my left side to the right on my body pillow. That pillow has been a life saver! Week 26 - I started waking up like clockwork between 5-6 and struggle to go back to sleep. I get so much on my mind about baby girl. So much excitement and anxiety all rolled into one.

Symptoms:hold heartburn!!! it's insane. i truly think i could breathe fire at any moment. also snissing or peeing when you sneeze. sorry for the TMI. i think at week 25 I had my first braxton hicks contraction, but haven't had any since. my whole stomach just tightened up in this crazy knot and i just took a few deep breaths and it went away. it freaked me out for a second.
(symphysis pubic dysfunction) SPD - it's the real deal. I feel like i have walked right into a corner and banged my pubic bone hard against it. it feels so bruised. the doctor mentioned it may get worse and i could potentially need physical therapy....ugh.

What I Miss: Working out, Beer, I also miss runny eggs and raw sushi. Not gonna lie - i inhaled not one, but two cold cut turkey sandwhiches on a lunch break at the beach. it was dammmmn good too. Not being able to drink with Kev on the babymoon was tough. we love to drink good craft beer together. I had a couple of non-alcholic ones that got me through thankfully.

Things that aren't my favorite: cellulite...ewwwwwwww. not being able to have a cold beer or glass of wine with Kev on the back deck. lack of energy in the evenings. the pain in my pelvis/pubic bone aka SPD.
