Pregnancy Highlights Week 5-12

I have been trying to document all the little moments of pregnancy for myself, Kev and our little baby to be.  Here's whats was going on during the not so glamorous past 12 weeks or so in our world.

Week 5 Highlights
- making our first MD appt
- feeling exhausted all the time
- the “gals" were soooo tender and swollen. Holy boobies!
- The Jackson’s came to visit to celebrate a late Christmas

Week 6 Highlights
-the nausea kicked in full swing and high gear
- major food aversions to everything!
- no appetite
-only able to choke down protein shakes, fresh fruit, white carbs (saltines, plain bagels, etc) apple juice, Gatorade
- exhausted and going to bed by 830pm
-super hormonal
-traveled home to Eastern Kentucky and got lots of R&R

Week 7 Highlights
-getting more nauseous at work
- meeting Megan for a “half-way date” and gushing about pregnancy
- telling close girlfriends
-Dinner and a movie with kev (American Sniper)and feeling so miserably sick in a sold out theater…..also, not being able to order anything at dinner because I felt so nauseous. I was finally able to hold down some soft pretzels and popcorn.

Week 8 Highlights
-oh week 8...you were one for the record books. so many emotions that week.
- I was hit with a nasty stomach bug on top of already existing nausea. it was horrible.
-i called into work three days in a row and never thought i would feel like myself again
-kev kept us afloat with housework, grocery trips, laundry and waiting on me hand and foot
- Kev's best guy pals came to visit and he spilled the beans. he was so excited to tell them
- at the end of week 8 we had our first doctor appointment and saw the baby for the first time and heard the heartbeat. i swear it was almost magical. that same day, my granny went to heaven to be with our Lord. it was a day filled with so many highs and so many lows.

Week 9 Highlights
-nausea, nausea and more nausea.
-exhausted. coming home from work and not moving from the couch
-hiding my sickness at work became harder and harder. although i told my boss very early on due to working in health care and certain precautions with patients, i had not told other co-workers. that week I did and it was such a burden off my chest. the support i received from my inner work circle was amazing. they helped out with my caseload on those days I was gagging it up in the bathroom.
- we received some not so good news regarding my MIL's health, but continue to remain positive as she has already starter her chemotherapy treatment

Week 10 Highlights
-my family came to visit and momma gave kev a break by helping me all around the house
- nausea still in high gear and i could barely eat anything that weekend
- starting to feel bloated and noticing an itty bit of a bump after meals

Week 11 Highlights
-less nausea (praise the lord!) but still so fatigued all.the.time
-appetite finally coming back
-loving fruit (especially all berries, pineapple, watermelon and cuties)
-we had dinner with one of favorite couples we have met since moving to NKY, The Sorrells and gushed all about our future peanut with them
-on Valentines' day baby went to 1st UK basketball game and tasted the greatness of Rupp Arena ice cream
-that itty bitty bump pops right out after a big meal

Week 12 Highlights
-planning our reveal/announcement
- finally telling close friends about our little secret and receiving so much love and excitement
-our second MD appt and seeing our baby do flip flops all over the place and waving little arms
- hearing the heartbeat for the second time
-being snowed in with Kev for most of the week. let me mention that he has handled nearly 100 percent of the cooking and cleaning . how did i get so lucky?

It still feels so so surreal! We are still pinching ourselves and completely over the moon about our little guy or girl.

How we told my parents....Christmas Eve 2014

We decided to tell my parents immediately...as in just over 4 weeks pregnant. We decided to tell them on Christmas Eve and looking back I am so glad we did. It was so so special and a Christmas we will never forget. What an amazing gift for us all to celebrate.

After our candlelight Christmas Eve service at church, we headed back the house with deep dish pizza to open presents. We had my brother and my parents open a "small" gift to start our Christmas Eve gift exchange. I had let my brother's girlfriend, Brittany, in on the secret earlier that day so she could capture the moment on video. The video is priceless and I will keep it always. I think my favorite part is my dad's reaction. It is the best!!

My parents were so so excited and had a difficult time keeping their lips sealed for nearly 8 more weeks. They are gonna make the best grandparents ever! I can't wait for Baby W to be in their lives.

I have been keeping a BIG secret.....

Yep....WE ARE PREGNANT!!
Baby W is due 9-1-2015 and we are absolutely over the moon about it. (Bailey boy looks a little unsure about it haha!)
Our every thought has been consumed by our little bambino since just before Christmas.
More details to come :-)

Our First Ugly Christmas Sweater Party

Kev and I kicked off the holidays season in style...ugly Christmas sweater style. We hosted a small group of friends over the first weekend in December to set our holiday season officially in motion.
It was a great night filled with bourbon cider, tacky sweater decorations, yummy food, lots of laughs, a crazy game of charades, a dirty Santa gift exchange and even a photo both equipped with props.

We had SO much fun! Can't wait to host again next year!!

what you missed....

During the blog hiatus.......
- Kevin "Rex" landed a brand new job downtown Cincy. He wasn't even looking to change jobs, it just landed right in his lap and was an opportunity and a blessing that we could not pass up. So proud of that man and his ability to provide for our family

- We have been on a serious health battle with sweet Uggie Sue. Poor girl was diagnosed with irritable bowel disease back in October 2014 and has had massive diarrhea up to ten times a day for months. We have been through rounds and rounds of blood work, antibiotics, steroids, eighty dollar bags of dog food, ultrasounds, a doggie upper GI scope, doggie colonoscopy and three small intestinal biopsies ...to be basically back at square one. It has been so emotionally exhausting to say the least We recently started low dose chemotherapy right after Christmas. The vet basically told us that if she doesn't respond to this, then she probably won't respond to anything. I can't tell you the last time we slept through the night either. She usually gets Kev up anywhere from 1-3 times per night. To say it has sucked...is putting it mildly. Prayers for our sweet girl as we head back to the vet this week to monitor her blood work to make sure there aren't serious chemo side effects. I know dogs are pets, but to us they are truly members of our family.

 Showing off her shaved belly

- We spent a lot of time with family. One of our favorite ways to spend our weekends!
- We had another house guest in the fall. My brother's girlfriend Brittany stayed with us a few months while she got settled in NKY/Cincy. We loved having her in our home. Britty has quickly became one of my closest friends. She is family to Kev and I.

- Spent a lot of time with this pretty and her hubby
This cutie and I celebrated our 2nd anniversary in November. We had a weekend out of town trip planned, but Uggie Sue's health condition stopped us in our tracks. A weekend at home was fine by us.

In home decor news...we finally put up Round 2 of the memory wall in our new house. This time it sits under the staircase to the second floor as well as the main entry to the house. I love the way it turned out!

Also added this bar cart to our kitchenette area. I have been updating the styling of it to match the seasons.

We also added this media stand in the kitchenette area. It is one of my favorite places in the house to curl up. It has such a cozy feel to it.

I splurged on garland this Christmas. It's my favorite Christmas decor to date. I am obsessed with the long needle pine look. Would you judge me if I told you it was still up.....and it may stay up till February.

Can't wait to share our holiday season next. It was so much fun having everyone at our house for Christmas this year!!!

Back In the Saddle

I tend to fall into lonnnnnng blogging breaks where life gets busy and blogging takes a back seat. Sometimes it becomes a semi-permanent break and I always get super sad that I haven't been able to document mine and Kev's lives. So here's to 2015 where I hope I am able to carve out a small portion of my time to capture our memories.
That's the whole reason I started this journey in the first place :-)
