I'm a Mrs.!!!

Hey Y'all!
I am offically a married woman!
I am anxiously awaiting all the gorgeous photos from my photographer.
For now I have this lil teaser

It was a gorgeous fall and sunny day in the bluegrass.
We were blessed with 65 degree weather in the middle of November.
Just the week before we had snow flurries. Me and the man upstairs had it all worked out ;-)
It was a perfect day.
All of our hard work truly paid off. The day of the wedding was so stress free and ran so smoothly. I could not have asked for a better day as a bride.
I knew it was going to be emotional, but the most touching thing to me was how emotional Kev was.  It melted my heart.
I am sure over the next couple of weeks you may or may not get sick of hearing about our special  day and all the details, but my favorite memory of the day
was looking into Kev's eyes, his eyes full of tears, as he said his vows to me. Nobody can ever take that moment away from me. I will remember that feeling for the rest of my life.

Hopefully, now that i have all this free time on my hands(i am having some serious wedding planning withdrawal) I can get back into bloggy mode. There's lots to catch y'all up on.

But for realz....it's official...I am Whitney Winchester.
I have been waiting my whole life to say that. hehe.
has a nice ring to it...don't ya think?

(oh and yes, the doggies walked down the aisle and did fabulous)

One more photo
this one was from my coordinator's iphone...aaaah cant wait to see the rest!!!

Something Old and Something Blue

Hey Y'all!

I have been dying to get back into full bloggy swing, but with 33 days until my special day, it has fallen to the bottom of the priority list.
I have been on a roller coaster of wedding emotions the last few weeks, but i think the wedding high is here to stay.
Prior to this weekend I had been one big stress mess. Poor, poor KR and my poor mother. I have by far put them through the ringer. There was just this two week period where I let the stress get the best of me.
However, everything seemed to change after my mom and I went to Cincy on Saturday for my final dress fitting. It was perrrrrfect. That weekend I also had my hair and makeup trial that turned out fabulous as well.

While I refuse to reveal my dress until wedding day, I did post this pic on instagram today
(follow me at whitneyeb14)

The white hear with "C" is my grandfather's handkerchief...my something old.
The blue heart is from my papaw's robe. He passed 10 months before I was even born and while I never knew him, I wanted to have a part of him with me on my wedding day.
I was blown away with the final product via my seamstress with the finished applique.

It's a very special part of my day. If it is one thing I have loved about wedding planning it has been the details. I know most people wont even notice them, but I will. I love incorporating the "little things" from mine and kev's families into the wedding. To me, that is what it is all about :-)

Since the weekend I have been smiling ear to ear and just trying to soak up this last month. It's a very exciting time and I am trying my best to savor every moment. I must admit that it doesn't hurt that my bachelorette party is this weekend and i am PUMPED!!!

Happy Hump Day!

Meet the Bridesmaids

I have been a lil bloggy mia....and it looks like it may stay that way till November. Starting next weekend KR and I have something on our schedules every singe weekend till our wedding. Between other weddings, showers, bachelor/ette parties, etc...our lives are a lil hectic, but oh so fun!
I am ecstatic about the upcoming events. Can't freakin wait!!

Wanted you all to meet my gals that are a special part of my wedding day.
Read on :-)

 Megan, Matron of Honor
Megan and I met in OT school and became roommates. She married one of my closet guy friends that I grew up with. She is my rock in the friendship department. I love her to pieces just like a sister. I would also never have made it through wedding planning without her.  I can't ever imagine my life without her in it. She's that friend you text/call/email 1382985 times a day cause you cant stand being away from her.

Katrina, Matron of honor
My lifelong friend. We grew up together and remained closest of close through highschool and college. She has always been there through thick and thin and we have watched each grow up and start new chapters in our lives...there for each other every step of the way.  She welcomed a baby boy into her life last fall (lil Trigg) who will be the ring bearer on our special day.

Angie, Bridesmaid
My college soul sista! Angie and I met in college at Transy and were tied to the hip from the moment we met. We pledged the same sorority and created thousands of memories that I will cherish forever. We also were roommates for over 4 years during and post college. She is a keeper in the frienship department! I am blessed to have a friend like her.

Caitlin, Bridesmaid
We met in college and also pledged the same sorority. We lived together in a house full of six girls my senior year of college where some of the best memories were made. She moved away to Mexico to be with the love of her life post college, but we have always remained close. Caitlin just moved to Austin, Texas in August and I am so glad to have her back in the states. She is one of the smartest, classiest and sincere gals I know.

Amber, Bridesmaid
She is my angel on Earth. Amber and I met at my frist Job and became instant friends and have never looked back. I have never met someone with as much heart as this girl has. Friends like her are one in a million. I am so glad God made our paths cross.

Shauna, Bridesmaid
My wifey! (college nicknames) Shauna and I met at Transy in 2002 and have remained friends since. She is an Eastern Ky Gal who shares my love of the mountains, family and country music :-) She is the friend who keeps me honest and grounded and gives me the truth even when I may not want to hear it. I will always be grateful for her honesty and her friendship.

Anne, the minister

Anne and I met in college and were randomly placed as next door neighbors in our freshmen dorm.  The rest was history.  We became sorority sisters and she also lived in the house full of 6 girls…sweet memories. I get so emotional thinking about this part. One of my closest friends will be marrying Kevin Rex and I. Anne went off to Texas after college for divinity school and became an ordained minister. Her and her husband no co-pasture a church in KY together. I could not imagine a more special person to marry us. It is one of my favorite parts about our wedding day.

I am so happy they will all stand by my side come November.
86 more days!

She makes her 50's look good :-)

Happy Birthday to the most amazing woman that I know

The woman who knows how to push my buttons and call me on my crap
The woman who has a heart of pure gold and always puts others above herself
The woman who is my rock
The woman who walks the Christian life day in and day out
The woman who taught me to wear my 4 inch heels and not slouch my shoulders even when towering at over 6 feet tall in them
The woman who believes in me on my very worst days
The woman who sacrificed to give me everything the world has to offer
The woman who I admire so much as a mother and a wife
The woman who picks me up when I am down, wipes the tears when I am sad, encourages me when I am afraid, and loves me through it all. The woman who is truly my best friend
Happy Birthday to my Momma :-)

Mom – I hope you are reading this from your brand new ipad :-) :-) :-)  I love you soo much.

Wedding Wednesday

Story of my life at the moment.

If I could just kill my sweet tooth from now until November....I would probably be A-ok.
Any tips from you past brides on how to get in tip top wedding shape? I am not trying to loose 30 pounds...just maybe 5 or so and tone up my tush.

I try on my dress in 5 weeks and I am hitting the gym 4-5x per week, but have to do better in the diet department. I have always ate whatever I want because
# 1. I am tall and
# 2. I work out pretty regularly so they cancel each other out.

Now losing weight is entirely different story....arrrrgggggh. Sissy here is having a hard time giving up her nightly bowl of cereal or small helping of ice cream. Help!!

Any tips for motivation? What did y'all do to get wedding ready in the fitness department?

Wedding Wednesday: My Calligrapher

If I have had one pain in my rear during this wedding planning process it has been the invitations.

They are CRAZY expensive for one
Two – I had a huge ordeal with some custom invites I ordered that turned out like doggy doo doo
Three - they are super time comsuming to assemble
However, I LOVE my final product invites.
You can see them here. The latest debacle has been to calligraphy or not. I didn’t want to do labels and printing on the envelopes turns out to be major pain in the ass with our computer.
So who rescues this damsel in distress???? My knight in shining armor of course....Kevin "Rex".
To say KR is artistic is the understatement of the year. The man has the left side of his brain working like nobody I have ever met before.  His artistic abilities are endless. I swear he is the next J.K Rowling. It would seriously blow your mind that this tattooed man who drives a Harley could have such a unique side to him. It’s very precious to me.
After hearing me gripe over the invites for the 1494858 time. I mean really....the things stay on people's refrigerator for a couple weeks and then go in the darn garbage with the envelope. IMO it's such a waste of money. Arrrrrgh. SOOOOOOOO......
Kev was like, “babe, why don’t you let me do the calligraphy?”
I thought  to myself …..“that is so sweet, but we will probably kill each other in the process”
But boy was I wrong. The man is the bomb.dot.com!! Who freaking knew? I can’t even believe I doubted him for a single second. And to think…it’s freeeeeeeeeeee.  He practiced over and over this weekend and I give him an A +! It is so sweet to me that he took this off my overloaded wedding stress plate and saved us a bit of money too. I swear I love him beyond words and I am so excited to be his Mrs. in 102 days!!!

As I sit here and write this post tonight, he is sitting beside of me at our kitchen bar handwriting all the return addresses.

Can I add that he hasn't griped one single gripe or complained.
Am I lucky bride to be or what?!?!

Wedding Wednesday: The Shoes

Or should I say boots?

Ever since I envisioned our country/rustic/barn wedding theme I knew one thing for sure….in true country girl fashion, I wanted to get married in cowboy boots.

And of course my bridesmaids would wear boots right with me.
Their boots were one of the first things I bought way back in February.
Here's some Miranda Lambert for inspiration

I have been on the mission for the perfect boot for quite sometime.
I had even thought about wearing a pair I already owned.
And low and behold I ran into these beauties at the boot store on Sunday after church.
It was clearly love at first site.

Can't wait to walk for all the cute photo ops showing my off my boots with KR.
He of course will be rocking his boots to :-)
It's gonna be a boot scootin boogie kinda night  and I can't wait.

Wedding Dress Runner Ups

I confirmed my first wedding dress fitting for a Saturday in September yesterday and I got to thinking about all those dresses I tried on. It is killing me that I won’t see the thing for another month or two. However, my dress is in Cincinnati, Ohio and I don’t plan on driving up there before then… unless my bridesmaid dresses come in sooner than expected. Girlfran is super busy these days with wedding planning, a career, trying to run a house, make time for friends, and be a good wifey to be.

While I won't share my actual wedding dress, I did want to share the dresses that were a close 2nd.

After being very open to trying on any style and material, I immediately knew I wanted a lace dress and in ivory. The ivory looks so much better with my olive skin tones. I think the lace look is so romantic and is perfect for our country/rustic barn wedding.

These next two dresses are the two I immediately feel in love with and actually went back several times to try them on. I thought it would be one of them.

And then there was the trip to Cincinnati with my mom that sealed the deal. I found three dresses there that blew the other two away.

In third place we have the gorgeous gown.
The neckline looked amazing on me since i have such a long torso. I am almost 5'10"...ain't nothing about me short.
However, I wasn't crazy about the beading under the bust; it almost looked cheap on me.

In 2nd place...this beauty. This pic does not do it justice. It was soooo pretty on me. However, ultimately I decided it looked a lil more formal with the satin detail around the waist. It was gorgeous though.

And then there was the moment where the bridal associate asked me if i brought my wedding shoes. I of course wore my cowboy boots that day and when i put them on under my actual dress....LOVE at first sight.
It's perfect

But y'all will have to wait till after the wedding to see the real thing.
EEEK 114 days to go.
Holy Crap!

Wedding Wednesday: Invitation Preview

Our wedding invitations came in the mail yesterday and I was ECSTATIC!
This was round 2 of ordering my invitations. The first round resulted in me needing 3 d glasses to read the invites. Not really, but they were so blurry that it is how is appeared.
To say I had a bridezilla moment would be an understatement. I let the customer service lady have it. Not that it was her fault, but all they wanted to give me was store credit and I demanded a refund. And that is just what this gal got. They asked me to mail the effed up invites backt o them to "help them correct future issues." I told them they could walk their hineeeys to 1234 Sunshine Ave in Lexington, KY and the darn things would be on my doorstep.
Crickets
True Story.
And no that is not my real address.

I got my refund and re-ordered my invites and they were so worth the wait.

The Fed Ex man made me so happy this afternoon.

I feel like they match our lil barn/country wedding to a tee.
In person they look just like they are on burlap.
Me loves.

Less than 4 months.
Who's excited? This gal is.
Can't wait to marry this man

Pause for the old school photo circa summer 2009.

Yep, KR rocked a mowhawk when i first met him.
I always thought it was so sexy.
Mowhawk, tattoos and harley....with a heart the size of the moon.
What wasn't to love about him?

Happy hump day friends

Better Late the Never

I have been so crazy busy this summer with weddings, my own wedding planning and work that my lil bloggy has took a back seat. I have so many fun things to share from mine and kev's summer, but they haven't made it on the world wide web yet.

One of my favorite memories of the summer was our trip to Lake Cumberland for Memorial Weekend. It was the perfect 4 day weekend/getaway.
Kevin Rex's buddies Gene and Cliff do an annual trip to the lake ever memorial weekend and we were so tickeled to be invited to tag along.

We set sail on our vessel out of Conely Bottom dock.

KR and our close friend Ron. Ron is always guaranteed entertainment and fun.

Half of the group ready to set sail waiting on our safety lesson.

Our Captain Geno

I seriously LOVE the lake more than I probably love the ocean. I grew up on a lake and always vacationed there with friends during high school and college summers.
There is just something about floating on the water, laying out on a boat, a cool drink, sunglasses and country music that makes my heart smile.

Me, Tara and LJ. I had never met lil LJ till this trip and she was such a doll! I am so upset she is moving out of KY to the big apple (NYC) with her beau.

Love my Ronnie

Geno in his place of peace...away from all us yappie girls.

We drove to our lil cove and tied up (quite the fiasco)  for the weekend.
Geno gave us orders

While Ronnie decided to play bartender

and i broke out the skinnygirl

and immediately got those bikinis on and jumped into the water with beverages and floats.

Later that night miss Brooke and Monica finally made it to the boat.
Not all of us had friday off :-)
I so enjoyed getting to know both of them better. They are absolute sweethearts!

The gals.
I had only met 3 of the gals once or twice before the trip. Sometimes it is intimidating to go on a weekend trip with a bunch of gals who have a long history together. These gals have been bffs since college and some even before that. I must say they were all the sweetest, nicest and most welcoming group of gals I have ever met. I had such a good time with them and felt like I made real friendships that trip and now see them out in Lexington on occasion. They were so much fun! The lake crew has rendezvoused a time or two in lex since the lake trip. Makes me happy.

Dwayne and Kaitlyn were our official boat drives most of the weekend.
We cruised, tubed and maybe even had a lil dance party to Call Me Maybe

ahh....perfect type of summer weekend

And sometimes we needed naps...right ronnie?

Group Shot of the entire gang after a rousing game of cranium where we learned that some people are really competitive or sore losers....haha. some of us laughed so hard we almost peed our pants ...others just wanted to strangle each other. we also witnessed some mad humming skills by ron, crazy break dancing and puppet moves by LJ and Cliff.... It was priceless

Things we discovered on our trip:

We ate like pigs the entire weekend.
Learned Kaitlyn had impeccable whistling skills
Realized Geno still asks permission from his mother and is a nut about his vitamins
Watched Ron demonstrate has amazing yoga skills on the tube
Got a lesson in jean/gene jamming
chess pie, taco dip, vanilla oreos, and my mom's pickle relish were the bomb dot com
sang some Randy Travis
may or may not have to take out toilet paper out in plastic bags to a dumpster on the back of the boat after every bathroom trip (yeah we got up close and persona)
and the list could go on and on.

Outside of all the hilarious inside jokes we now have from the trip, we also had such a fun time with new and old friends.
I think I could live on a houseboat...well maybe just in the summer months.
Can't wait for next year!!!
